THE STORY
Where do we begin?
It all began in October 1999 when a group of like-minded players decided to form their own squad. This wasn't just any team; it was a team built on the foundation of camaraderie, skill, and the thirst to dominate the world of DF2. These individuals, led by a determined player known as Tank, started recruiting others who shared their passion. And so, the Legion of Evil (LoE) was born.
Initially, it was a small but tight-knit squad, primarily consisting of players from North America. Alongside Tank, key players like Lucky, Ghostly, Kane, Maddog, Snipeaguy, and Se7en quickly rose to prominence within the squad. Their coordination, strategies, and chemistry in the game were unparalleled. The Legion of Evil may have started small, but it had massive potential.
Expanding Horizons: Global Growth (2000)
As the new millennium dawned, the squad's ambition and reach grew. In 2000, LoE expanded beyond its North American roots, bringing in top-tier players from across the globe. The squad's first big international recruits were three German players: Bjay12, Seervuss, and Atty. These new members not only added to LoE's strength but also opened the door to broader alliances and connections in Europe.
The growing team didn't stop there. Later in 2000, more players joined the fold, including Shame, SaS, and Yakman, further increasing LoE's global footprint. The squad was now an international force, boasting players from Europe, Australia, North and South America, and even parts of Asia. The diversity and cultural differences among the members only fueled their desire to succeed. LoE was truly becoming a global powerhouse.
Building the Foundation: The Website and Branding (March 2000)
As LoE's reputation grew, it became clear that the squad needed a platform to unify the members and showcase their successes. In March of 2000, Se7en took the initiative and built LoE's first website. This became a vital hub for members to share information, post about upcoming events, and interact with each other on a daily basis. The website was an instant success, and it helped solidify LoE's identity in the DF2 community.
Beyond the website, the branding of the squad began to take shape. The emblem of the Legion became instantly recognizable within the DF2 world. The squad's logo, along with the website and other efforts, began to attract more attention, as players from across the globe looked to join one of the most powerful and ambitious teams in the game.
Strengthening Bonds: Friendships and Alliances
While LoE was focused on dominating the game, it wasn't all about competition. Over time, the squad formed deep bonds that went beyond the digital world. Members from different continents developed a sense of family, sharing not just gameplay strategies but personal moments as well. The teamwork and mutual respect between these players allowed the squad to function as a well-oiled machine, with each member understanding the importance of playing for the team and supporting one another.
As LoE's strength grew, so did its network. The squad began forging powerful alliances with other teams. These allies became an integral part of LoE's strategy for dominance, and the relationships forged in the game spilled over into real-life friendships. LoE's network of allies was now one of the most powerful and influential in the entire DF2 world.
The Legacy of LoE
By the middle of 2000, LoE had established itself as one of the most respected and feared squads in DF2. Its network of allies, vast pool of talent, and strong sense of camaraderie made LoE nearly unstoppable. But what truly set the squad apart was the family-like atmosphere that was cultivated within it. The bonds of friendship that were formed not only shaped the squad's success but also created a lasting legacy within the DF2 community.
As the years went on, LoE continued to expand, adapt, and evolve. New members were recruited, new alliances were formed, and the squad's reach grew even further. But no matter how big LoE became, it never lost sight of its roots — the group of players who came together in October 1999 to create something special. The Legion of Evil was not just a squad; it was a family, a network, and a force to be reckoned with.
Expansion into Other Platforms and Games
Over the years, LoE's ambition extended far beyond Delta Force 2. As gaming evolved and new titles emerged, LoE was there, adapting to each new challenge. The squad's reach expanded into other competitive games such as Battlefield, Call of Duty, America's Army, Ghost Recon, Black Hawk Down, and even Xbox, PlayStation, and mobile platforms. Wherever there was competition, you could find the LoE tag proudly displayed, marking the squad's presence in virtually every corner of the gaming world.
The squad wasn't just limited to one game or platform — it was about dominating whatever competitive scene LoE players could find themselves in. Whether it was a new Battlefield release, a Call of Duty tournament, or even mobile games on the go, LoE members played side by side, continuing their legacy and proving that their influence in the gaming world knew no boundaries.
Even though LoE doesn't currently maintain an active roster, its impact can still be felt. Many former members still play together, not for the rankings or the trophies, but because the bond formed through the squad is unbreakable. LoE was never just about climbing the competitive ladder — it was about loyalty, unity, and building a lasting legacy in the gaming world. The squad may not have an official roster anymore, but the spirit of LoE lives on through its members and the relationships they formed.
